[01] Outer ring somewhere / Open
In all of the strange things he's experienced in his life, there's still nothing that really compares to being suddenly spirited away to what he knows intrinsically to be an entirely different world.
As jarring as the sudden shift had been, Subaru's shock is only momentary. With no apparent reason for how or why he is here, let alone any explanation that helps him determine where 'here' might be, there's not much to be done but to survey the surroundings.
The more worrying thing is the realization that his spiritual abilities are gone.
It's as though he's suddenly gone blind, deaf, and numb all at once. Although he can see, hear, and feel normally, the connection with the spiritual essence of the world is completely severed. He strains, trying to cast out for any sensation of spiritual energy, but coming back with nothing. More than being in a completely different world, the lack of his onmyoujitsu abilities is what has him reeling. He can't remember a time when he couldn't pick up on the spiritual signatures of other people, regardless of how dull or sharp they were. Entire places have energies all their own, but now it's as though everything has been silenced.
It's so, so quiet.
Subaru starts walking. He may be here for some time, and perhaps if he learns more about this place, he can find a way to regain his power - or learn to live without it.
But he doesn't especially mourn for the world from which he was ripped; there's little left for him there, anyway.
