It's remarkable that Erwin hadn't heard the other man's approach before he'd spoken, quiet as it is. It's suspicious, certainly--everything about this is suspicious--and the stranger doesn't outwardly seem particularly perturbed by their current situation. But then again, Erwin appears quite calm himself.

Striking up a conversation is simple. This is his first opportunity to learn something about what is happening here. Even if this stranger, too, has no knowledge of where they are or why they are there, that is a piece of the puzzle in and of itself.

"Very," he admits easily, mouth set in a humorless grimace, brow furrowed.
